As
the season winds its way to its conclusion its worth reflecting on what
we have achieved so far. The resurrection of the third team has meant
all players are now getting a game every week. The club house has had a
much better buzz about it and the first team are probably having the
best season for about 7 years. Our young half backs have now cemented
their place in the ones both scouring yesterday and it makes me and
Tony proud fathers to have seen them progress.
It was
a tough week getting a team out loads of unavailability's and injuries
meant we were going to have to play above ourselves to secure a
victory. I should never have doubted you guys you came through as
always. The commitment at the tackles was fantastic. We played up the
slope first half scouring early through the centre, half backs Phil and
Si marshalling the game well. The lineout went well Ross as always
leaping into the havens to secure ball. The breakdown was messy hands
all over the place and the young ref not really penalising anyone. He
started to ping the ball wide quick and the tries started coming. It
was 30 points up by half time. Amersham came back at us second half and
all credit to them. My match report is a bit sketchy as I realise now
playing prop that you don't see a lot of the game by the time I was
getting out of the scrum we had scoured. But thanks to Dom Dunce for
also having a good game at prop and young Dan playing his first full
game in the forwards where he belongs.
